Through an original itinerary arranged on two levels beneath the old chimney stack, the museum traces the history of the local glass industry.

The journey begins with archaeological finds and medieval documents, tracing the evolution through the 19th and 20th centuries to the definitive establishment of lead crystal in 1963. This innovation defined the entire second half of the 20th century, earning Colle worldwide fame as the ‘Town of Crystal.’ Indeed, the town has been responsible for 15% of global crystal production and over 95% of all Italian output.

The new layout, completely redesigned in 2023, takes an innovative approach. It emphasizes not only the production and the history of glass and crystal, but above all, the people. In fact, the historical narrative is told on the first level and concludes with an extensive section dedicated to design; the second level is instead dedicated to the professionals who populate the factories—or rather the ‘piazze’ (squares), the areas near the kilns where the objects take shape.

Through videos, personal testimonies, and original tools, visitors are transported into the daily lives of the master glassmakers. The world of crystal comes to life, told by the protagonists themselves in a compelling video documentary.
