Discovering the Blue River

Discovering the Blue River: The SentierElsa

An accessible trail along the banks of the Elsa River

Discover the Elsa, the turquoise river that flows through Colle and its river park. Colle di Val d’Elsa owes its very name to this river, which for centuries has been the heart of town’s life and the driving force behind its development.

The urban River Park, located just a few steps away from the town center, is an oasis of peace and beauty, waiting to be explored. It features lush vegetation, waterfalls, adventurous crossings, and stretches of water with a characteristic blue color.

An expert guide will accompany you along the river path. Along the way, the guide will point out local animal and plant species, highlight the trail’s most scenic viewpoints, and share the story of the river and its connection to the city’s history. You will also have the chance to admire the spectacular Diborrato Waterfall.
